Doctors

Rick Moore, DVM

Rick MooreDr. Rick Moore opened the doors of Animal Medical Center in 1984 with the goal of providing quality, compassionate veterinary care that was convenient to our clients, and to raise the standard of veterinary care being offered in our community at that time.

Dr. Moore obtained his DVM degree from the University of Tennessee in 1982. Prior to veterinary school, he served as an active duty officer and pilot in the U.S. Army and in the Tennessee Army National Guard until 1984. He has been in private general practice for over 30 years. He has served as President of his local professional veterinary chapter and has been an active member of the American Animal Hospital Association, serving on the Council of 100 and as Regional Director.

Dr. Moore maintains professional associations with the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the American Feline Practitioner’s Association, and the Emergency and Critical Care Society. He also has memberships with the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association and the North Georgia Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Moore feels that quality medicine, client education and building relationships are the most important aspects of his job. He enjoys the small, private practice atmosphere where he can become intimately involved in his patient’s healthcare needs. He loves veterinary medicine and looks forward to coming to work each and every day.

In his spare time, Dr. Moore enjoys working on his farm, gardening and spending time with his family. He is married to Joan, who works with him in the practice. They are parents to Jillian and Heath, Joseph and Justin and are grandparents to Emma Cate and Broughton. They are also pet parents to Jackson, a yellow Labrador retriever.
